The Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Granite Construction Company, is working on the Knik-Goose Bay Phase I project between the Palmer-Wasilla Extension and Donovan Drive.  

• Traffic Signals - During the week of September 16th, the project will be transferring service to the permanent traffic signal systems.  During the transfer the temporary wooden poles and span wires will be taken down.  The schedule for the week is as follows:
  • Monday, September 16^th - Knik-Goose Bay / Clapp-Fairview Intersection
  • Tuesday, September 17^th - Knik-Goose Bay / Fern Intersection
  • Wednesday & Thursday September 18^th & 19^th - Knik-Goose Bay / Palmer-Wasilla Intersection
• Each intersection will be under flagger control during the transfer to the permanent signal.  The transfer will take place during the day so we can have the appropriate subject matter experts available for startup and testing.  Please be alert to the change in the signals and follow the direction of traffic control personnel to help you navigate the work zone.
