On March 12, recyclers from across the region were invited to participate in Willow’s Recycling Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Recycling advocate Fran Lynch explained the history of recycling in the Willow community from its roots, decades past, to their newest multi-stream containers. Next, Borough Mayor Vern Halter congratulated the community of Willow and applauded their hard work and dedication to keeping our Valley beautiful. Finally, Mollie Boyer, Director of Valley Community for Recycling Solutions, expressed her appreciation and excitement at the strides the people of Willow are making in the recycling realm. Recyclers of all generations joined Mayor Halter in cutting the ribbon and embarking on a new path of responsibility for our environment.

Willow is now open for recycling at the Willow Transfer Station from 11 am to 1:30 pm on the 2nd Saturday and last Tuesday of each month.

They recycle corrugated cardboard boxes and brown paper bags, mixed paper and paperboard, office paper, steel cans and lids, aluminum cans, plastic jugs and bottles (#2), plastic bottles (#1), plastic PE film, and plastic containers and packaging (#5).
