Mat-Su | Patty Sullivan | Thursday, August 18, 2016

A small crowd celebrated the opening Tuesday of the new Iditarod Elementary School. Iditarod is one of the last schools to be built from the $214 million in construction projects from the 2011 school bonds. Principal Scott Nelson led the ceremony outside in the bright sun. Some 370 students attend the new school located right next to the old school near Wasilla.
