Public outreach efforts win awards

ANCHORAGE—The Public Affairs Office for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough picked up four statewide awards last week in the Alaska Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, a group of 100 members. Patty Sullivan is Director of Public Affairs.

The awards are: second place for Mayor's Minute, a podcast; second place for a KMBQ radio ad on road sign vandalism; third place in the most competitive category of Annual Report; and third place for Duffy Download, a podcast.

Judges were from New Mexico. One judge had this to say of the Annual Report: "Nice looking piece! What a colorful narrative on the annual report process. Strong creative tactics and images used."

Some 15,000 copies of the Annual Report are distributed throughout the Borough, many of them via magazine racks in stores.
