As of today, Aug. 2, you can again pay your property taxes online. Half your property taxes for the year 2018 are due by Aug. 15.
IT restored the web application today after a cyber virus required the disconnection on July 24 of Borough computer infrastructure.
Borough Assessments’ staff called mortgage companies yesterday to confirm payment methods. The lenders typically pay taxes by wire transfer and were not affected by the temporary shutdown of online payment.
Assessment staff can answer questions and look up tax information if needed. Please call the Main Borough number at (907) 861-7879 and ask for Assessments.
Tax bills were mailed out by July 1, as required by State law.
To mail in a check send it to: Collections, 350 E. Dahlia Ave., Palmer, AK 99654
To pay online, use point & pay. You will need a credit card and your tax bill. Go to www.matsugov.us/ecommerce and look for the real property tax icon. Follow the steps. For taxes paid online, a 3% convenience fee is added by the processor.
