Migration of 911 Dispatch Underway

Mat-Su | Patty Sullivan | Tuesday, February 21, 2017

The migration of the 911 dispatch from the city of Palmer to the city of Wasilla is underway. The public is invited to attend a project stakeholder meeting for a status briefing and question and answer period today, Feb. 21 at 4 pm, in the Assembly Chambers at 350 E. Dahlia Ave. in Palmer.

During the transition between cities, the Borough will maintain a contract with Palmer until July 2017 or longer if necessary.

Borough IT Director Eric Wyatt will give regular updates on the transition progress at regular Assembly meetings. The City of Wasilla recently signed a contract with the Borough.  An action memorandum posted here shows an award of dispatch services to Wasilla for $8.83 million over a 5.3-year period. Other legislation is attached here.
