Mat-Su Miners Honored

The Mat-Su Miners College Summer baseball club was recognized before the Assembly on Tues. night.

The team plays on the Hermon Brothers Field set before Pioneer Peak, "recognized as one of the most picturesque amateur baseball fields in America built by volunteers in 1976 and maintained by many local grants and community volunteer efforts," the proclamation reads. 

As of June 2018 some 14 Miners were drafted according to the Mat-Su Miners website with a list posted here.

"The Mat-Su Miners honor and promote the all American pastime of baseball and promote the importance of higher education by requiring that all players have attended at least one year of college ... "

"The Mat-Su Miners have won the Top of the World Tournament Series Championship for three consecutive eyars, 2016-2018."
