MAT-SU – 6:50 p.m. UPDATE. People living off Palmer Fishhook by Wasilla Creek, between Crabb Circle and Nangle Street are advised to evacuate. Residents living on Trunk Road near Wasilla Creek are advised to be aware of rising water levels. 


MAT-SU – 6:50 p.m. UPDATE. People living off Palmer Fishhook by Wasilla Creek, between Crabb Circle and Nangle Street are advised to evacuate. Residents living on Trunk Road near Wasilla Creek are advised to be aware of rising water levels. The Talkeetna River is still expected to crest later tonight as the level is rising at approximately one half inch per hour, compared to two inches per hour earlier today.

Emergency Services is continuing to make welfare checks on people as resources become available.

Emergency Services and Public works continue to do damage assessments and are posting signage.

Please be advised that the Red Cross shelters only accept pets if they are service animals.

An updated road closure list and map will be posted shortly.
