Glenn Highway mile 66 - A seven-acre fire is growing at mile 66-67 on the Glenn Highway. The fire is running up a steep incline, making it burn faster and more difficult to maintain. The blaze is located near the confluence of Kings River and the Matanuska River, some five miles east of Sutton. About 20 homes are within one mile of the fire. Two helicopters have been dumping water on the wildfire. An Anchorage task force that was working the 700-acre Point MacKenzie Road wildfire, was diverted to this blaze near Sutton. An Anchorage hotshot team is en route. (Tazlina)Officials are evacuating the Kings River campground. A map is attached here showing the approximate location n of the fire.
