Huskies on the move

Mat-Su | Patty Sullivan | Sunday, March 06, 2011

Good luck continues for the Huskies rescued by MAT-SU Borough Animal Care in January. Flights donated by Delta Airlines are transporting six of the dogs to rescue groups Outside. Four are going to Northwest Montana Humane Society for adoption there, and two are headed to Idaho to Western State Siberian Rescue. Criteria identifying which of the remaining 75 rescued dogs were eligible to transfer to the Humane Society and Siberian Rescue was determined by the two rescue organizations. The selected Huskies have been micro-chipped and spayed or neutered in anticipation of the trip.

As the remaining Huskies recover they, too, are getting chipped, and spayed or neutered in order to facilitate their adoption. The adoption price for these dogs is the Rescue Organization price of $17.50.

Again, we want to express our thanks to the volunteers, and the many new volunteers. Because of your help Animal Care is able to tend to the care and feeding of all of these dogs as well as the number of animals we normally receive.
