Mat-Su | Patty Sullivan | Sunday, November 29, 2009

MAT-SU--H1N1 vaccines will be given to anyone six months and older at an upcoming mass dispensing clinic. The clinic will be the first large one in the MAT-SU for the general public. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough and MAT-SU Public Health are working together to disseminate the flu vaccine.

The event takes place Dec. 17, Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Menard Sports Center in Wasilla at 1001 S. Mack Drive, off the Parks Highway.

This week the State widened the availability of the H1N1 vaccine to the general public.

It's helpful to bring shot records for children who recently were given a live vaccine. The timing of such vaccines should be about a month apart.

Last night 106 people turned out at the Willow Community Center for the vaccine. The Sunshine Community Health Center is holding another clinic Thursday, Dec. 10 at the Montana Creek Baptist Church (mile 98.5 of the Parks Highway) from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. first come, first served.
