Friday Creek Fire Wed.

MAT-SU—Hot Shot crews continue to suppress the Friday Creek Fire by hand. Work is slow and steady. The Division of Forestry is managing the fire. Borough Emergency Manager Tom Smayda reports that the 80-acre fire is not declared out but is inactive.
Firefighters are mopping up the fire today.  That involves looking for remaining hotspots and extinguishing them.
