Flood Advisory Still In Effect

Rising water is being monitored by Borough Responders at the bridge on Yoder Road at Montana Creek. Borough and local responders are also monitoring key location ns in the Upper Susitna Valley to gauge the rising water levels in area creeks and rivers. Moose Creek has receded and the water level is currently below the flood and action stage. There are no road closures at this time.

EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER—Rising water is being monitored by Borough Responders at the bridge on Yoder Road at Montana Creek. Borough and local responders are also monitoring key locations in the Upper Susitna Valley to gauge the rising water levels in area creeks and rivers. Moose Creek has receded and the water level is currently below the flood and action stage. There are no road closures at this time.

In a 5 a.m. update the National Weather Service has forecasted rain heavy at times with northeast wind 10 to 20 mph shifting to the southeast 20 to 35 mph in the afternoon and higher gusts to 45 mph through channeled areas.

A flood advisory is still in effect and the rainfall will cause rises in most rivers and streams in the Susitna Valley, especially Willow Creek, Montana Creek and the Yentna and Skwentna Rivers. Rain will cause considerable ponding of water in low lying areas near culverts and along small creeks and drainages.
