Fire at 52 Acres With More Help Arriving

A dozer line was completed at approximately 8 pm last evening around the 52 acre Horseshoe Lake Fire. Forestry and Borough fire fighters continue to fight the fire that ignited Sunday afternoon. Two helicopters are working the fire this morning with additional help arriving from Fairbanks as two crews are expected to arrive between 11 am and 1 pm today. Due to the unseasonably dry conditions, people should take all precautions when hunting, hiking and camping to help prevent more fires at a time when fire fighting resources are thin in the State.
