Assembly Listens in Willow on budget

Thursday night in Willow, residents from Willow, Houston, Point MacKenzie, Wasilla, and Talkeetna filled a room during the last public hearing on the proposed 2017 Borough budget. Matanuska-Susitna Borough Assembly Members listened to testimony mostly supporting schools and a request for an additional $1.6 million.

The Mat-Su Borough School District is requesting a six percent increase in funding. Audio of the Assembly remarks will be posted here.

Assembly Members begin deliberating and discussing amendments to Borough Manager John Moosey's proposed budget at a Monday, May 9, meeting at 6 pm in the Assembly chambers at 350 E. Dahlia Ave. in Palmer.
