suttonlibraryDec2011MAT-SU— This week the Assembly for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough accepted $60,000 in donations for the Sutton Library & Community Resource Center project, including $50,000 from BP-Alaska, $2,500 from Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union and $7,500 from Friends of the Sutton Library.

Assembly Member Warren Keogh said at the Tuesday night meeting, the donations will be well spent.

"I did a walk-through last week, and it's a fantastic facility, extraordinarily significant to the community and to the people up and down the highway. It's one thing in the community, where there are divisions on some issues, I would say that 95 percent of the folks in the community are 100 percent on board with this new library and community resource center. It's a very big deal for the community."

The Assembly unanimously approved the donations.
