MSB Response to Anchorage Emergency Order on Dine-in Food or Drink Establishments
On March 16, 2020, Anchorage issued a signed Emergency Order, which will regulate bars, breweries and restaurants.
“Starting at 5:00 p.m., dine-in service for food or drink at bars, breweries and restaurants will be prohibited until 11:59 p.m. on March 31. Drive-thru, take-out, and delivery services are allowed. By making sacrifices now, we reduce the likelihood that we will pay a larger cost later,” said Anchorage Mayor, Ethan Berkowitz.
Questions are being asked if we are intending to make the same type of restrictions in the Mat-Su. The answer is no, because the Mat-Su Borough is a second-class borough, and as such, has no health powers or authority to do this. “We want the residents of the Mat-Su to be reassured that we are taking all steps necessary, under the authority granted us, to help prevent the spread of this virus,” said MSB Manager, John Moosey.
