Congratulations to Animal Care!

MAT-SU—Animal Care is pleased to announce a one-year anniversary as a no-kill shelter. For cats, anyway - 8 months for dogs. In the last 12 months we’ve taken 3,511 animals into the shelter. Some other interesting statistics: Animal Care staff assisted members of the public with the difficult decision of euthanasia 196 times, provided private cremation services for 48 pets, and returned 561 lost pets to their owners.

On the other side of the facility, our 4 officers handled 2,652 cases of animal related problems such as lost pets, nuisance animals, bites, cruelty, and other emergencies.
