Water continues to receding, allowing displaced residents to go home and start the cleanup. As you start the clean up process remember to wear rubber gloves as the water maybe contaminated.

Talkeetna, The water has receded and there is no flowing water, but a lot of standing water. Public Works is concerned that some road beds have been compromised, so do not venture far into these standing water areas if you do not know what is under the water. We are still waiting on the Water Testing Kits, hope to have an arrival time soon. Watch our face book page. Butte According to Eric VanDusen at Station 2-2, which is located in Butte, says since last night, the water levels on the Mat-River have dropped about 3 – 3 ½ feet. They will be monitoring the levels about every 4 hours.

We will post these updates here and on the Matanuska-Susitna Borough facebook page. Further up the Glenn Hiway SOA DOT crews are still working on the Moose Creek and King River Bridges. The Mighty Mat river is running fast and hard. Use caution if going thru these areas. RV's that have been displaced are being relocated at the Alaska State Fair Grounds in Palmer, they are wishing some of those famous food vendors were open.
