New Mapping Tools on Parcel Viewer

There are new tools available in the Parcel Viewer on the Matanuska-Susitna Borough’s mapping webpage that make it quick and easy to create original maps online.

Property & Maps is one of the most highly viewed webpages on the Borough’s website. It is used by realtors, title companies, contractors, neighbors, emergency responders, Firewise groups, delivery services, homeowners associations and many others.

The updated Parcel Viewer can still do everything that it used to and more. You can still search for property by address or owner, determine if your property is in a flood zone, see assessment values for your property, and create a map print. The new Mapping tab gives you the ability to mark up a map by adding measurements, drawing shapes, adding words or phrases and then printing your map to a file. The new Search tab has tools for doing searches using several different methods such as freehand sketching an area or selecting a specific spot with the cursor.

Sharing your map area is now possible using Facebook and email. You can also save your map area to an image without a border and title block if you prefer.

The Borough’s Parcel Viewer has more accurate local information than Google maps. For example, the new boundary from the recent land annexation by the City of Houston is already visible on the Borough Parcel Viewer.
