MSB Responds to Flooding reports in Willow

On December 22, 2019 at approximately 2300 hours, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Department of Emergency Services responded to the Friday Subdivision in Willow, AK on reports to flooding from Willow Creek in that area.

Willow Fire Department, Alaska State Troopers, and the Mat-Su Water Rescue team responded to assess for injuries and damage. Those living in the area West of the Deneki Bridge are being evacuated.

The American Red Cross opened a shelter at the Willow Community Center, 23625 W Willow Community Circle, Willow, AK for persons unable to remain in their homes.

No injuries have been reported. Emergency personnel are still on scene assessing the situation and assisting residents to evacuate. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Department of Emergency Services will provide updates as the situation changes.
