House Fire Exercise on Old Mat Road

Next Saturday, Sept. 27, firefighters from the Central Mat-Su Fire Department will exercise by fighting flames on a donated house on Old Matanuska Road. The realistic training will provide essential firefighting experience, which will ultimately benefit our community.

The exercise begins at 8 am and ends before 10 pm Saturday. Black smoke and flames will be visible at times. Old Matanuska Road will be closed to through traffic between Danny's Ave. and Mickey Ave. Local residents will be able to access their homes.  The training is in accordance with standards by the National Fire Protection Association and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation.
