Matanuska-Susitna Borough

Earthquake Recovery Update

Mat-Su | Stephanie Bishop | Friday, December 14, 2018

End of the week update on the state of the Mat-Su Borough by Emergency Services Director Otto Feather. All of the roads are open. All schools except for Colony Middle School are open. FEMA and the State of Alaska continue to perform assessments of your damaged homes. And as a reminder, Mat-Su Emergency Services are available 24/7 and 365 days per year with constant staffing to meet your needs.

As a reminder, if you have a damaged home, essential personal property, and/or transportation losses from the 2018 Cook Inlet Earthquake, please apply for State Individual Disaster Assistance by visiting ready.alaska.gov or call the State Individual Assistance Hotline at: 1-855-445-7131.

Please keep in mind that the application process will take time. The information you entered into Orion has helped both the Borough and the State of Alaska but you still need to apply for State Individual Disaster Assistance at www.ready.alaska.gov or by calling 1-855-445-7131.

Individuals who are displaced or in need of temporary housing will take priority. If you are displaced or need temporary housing, please contact the State Individual Disaster Assistance Hotline at: 1-855-445-7131.

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR STATE INDIVIDUAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE IS JANUARY 29, 2019.
