Detour on Point MacKenzie Road

Beginning next Monday, Aug. 25, a small segment of Point MacKenzie Road will be closed for paving. A detour takes traffic around the work area. The closure ends on Friday Aug. 29, 11 p.m.

Point MacKenzie Road – Next week, a small segment of Point MacKenzie Road will be closed five days for construction and paving. A detour will route traffic around the work area. The seven mile detour begins Mon. Aug. 25 through 11 p.m. on Friday Aug. 29.

Traffic will take Point MacKenzie Road to W. Ayrshire Avenue, turn left on Guernsey Road, turn left on Holstein Road, returning to Point MacKenzie Road. Signs will help direct traffic.

AIC, Alaska Interstate Construction is under contract to pave the road. Borough staff appreciate the patience of drivers in the area.
