This Sat., Nov. 1, the Animal Care Shelter will be closed due to construction on the adjoining expansion project. The Shelter will be open for business on Mon. Nov. 3.

Assistant Borough Manager Elizabeth Gray oversees the Animal Care & Regulation Division.
"We hope our customers can plan around the one-day closure. Each week construction on the shelter expansion progresses. We expect the project to be completed this spring," Gray said.

Photos of the construction as it progresses are regularly posted on the Borough Website at www.matsugov.us

The public entrance to the facility has been relocated. The foundation, slab, and fire suppression tank have been poured with framing and truss installation complete. Insulation, electrical, and mechanical work is currently in progress. Transition to the shelter addition is expected in January 2009, at which time renovation of the existing structure will start.
