BOGARD ROAD EXTENSION update

Contractors for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Bogard Road Extension project are in the homestretch with striping, street lighting, roundabout signage, and some landscaping already taking place this week. Paving is expected over the weekend on the section near the Glenn Highway.

Here’s a breakdown on when segments of the road will open:

Phase 1—Glenn Highway west to a few hundred feet from 49th State Street

Phase 2—49th State Street roundabout west to approximately 300 feet past Colony Middle School’s west entrance

49TH STATE STREET ROUNDABOUT

The roundabout at 49th State Street opened today except for the road leg heading east toward Palmer High.

All entrances to Colony High School are paved and opened.

BOGARD BETWEEN COLONY SCHOOLS

The stretch of Bogard Road between the Colony schools, from 49th State Street to Silver Creek Drive, is open for east-west travel. However, a striping effort over the weekend will require traffic restrictions on this road. Expect pilot cars and delays on this road.

ROUNDABOUT AT COLONY MIDDLE

The roundabout at Spring Creek Drive/Colony Middle School is open for east-west traffic but not yet for accessing the school.

Traffic restrictions will take place over the weekend for roundabout signage and striping. Access should continue to be through the west entrance to Colony Middle School.

BOGARD ROAD TO THE GLENN HIGHWAY IN PALMER

Bogard Road, 49th State Street to the Palmer High School remains closed and under construction.

Paving from Palmer High School to the Glenn Highway is scheduled to take place over the weekend and into early next week. Curb work and electrical work are ongoing. The paving is weather dependent. Cold and wet days prevent work.
