Animal Shelter Hours Change

MAT-SU In an effort to provide better service to residents of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the hours of operation for the MAT-SU Animal Shelter will change.

Beginning March 16, the shelter will open Monday through Saturday at 11 a.m. and close at 6:30 p.m., an hour later than now.

Animal Care officers will modify their current schedules to be available until 6:30 p.m., seven days a week and will continue to provide response to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The former Shelter hours made it difficult for some to do business or to adopt pets during the work week.
