99 Percent contained, Sockeye Fire

JULY 5: The Sockeye Fire transitioned to a Type 4 Incident Command Organization on July 2. There are currently 39 personnel.

Perimeter mop-up continues and resources are focused working around structures and along the roads in order to reduce the threat to the community. The fire remains at 99% containment. Burn Permits for burn barrels remain suspended. Campfires in Borough parks and on Borough land remains suspended. Campfires are allowed in some State parks.

Given current suppression efforts; staffing levels; and favorable weather, there is little to no foreseen potential for fire movement. Aggressive and persistent mop up will continue to ensure the safety of structures within the fire area.
